Dr. Lilly

The kids' new school has something even better than a school nurse, it has a school doctor; a real physician who works solely for the school. This means that she is incredibly attentive to the small population of children that attend there. Eden has discovered this service and has begun seeing her on a regular basis. She coughed a couple of times and went to see Dr. Lilly. She tripped on the playground and went to see Dr. Lilly. Her throat felt funny so she went to see Dr. Lilly. Each time I get a detailed report emailed to me from Dr. Lilly about the visit and she takes it very seriously (which I would prefer far more than someone not concerned at all). Here is the report I got today:

Dear Parents, Please be informed that Eden has visited the school health office today. Eden has explained that during lesson she has leaned on a table and pressed her right wrist on the edge and the wrist started to hurt and had a burning sensation. Eden was examined and she was fine. The area was symptom clear. The ice pack was given and Eden had a rest in the school health office. Eden was fine to return back to classroom and preform daily school activities. Recommended is a follow up in case that the wrist becomes swollen or painful, or any symptoms appear. As always, I stand ready and at your service.
Sincerely,
Dr. Lilly

See what I mean? Andrew said he talked with Eden to try to deter her from going to see the doctor so often. He told her that she only needed to go to the doctor if she was really sick. Her response: "How do I know I'm not really sick if I don't go to the doctor?" Apparently the two of them went in circles over this for quite some time before Andrew had to yield to her airtight logic. I think Eden and Dr. Lilly will become great friends.

Eden should become a lawyer. So smart! Where are you guys at now? I will have to read back on the blog and find out. We've moved back to Iowa until September of next year. Then off to Denmark we go. Hope all is well for the Burton clan. Mikkel still misses your cooking Mandy!
