Camera safari and a visit from a friend

As an Easter gift, Andrew enrolled me in a camera safari at the Franciscan Monastery in DC. I never knew it was there and probably wouldn't have ventured that far into the District had I not taken this class. I'm so glad I did. It was incredibly beautiful, especially during the tulip bloom season. The instructor, a local professional photographer, was very helpful and taught me some new ways to use my camera- starting with the correct way to hold it. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the class. How'd I do?

In early May our good friend Sonja was able to come out for a visit. We're so glad we got to hang out before the move this summer. I feel a little guilty that we didn't do anything spectacular. Since we'd done a lot of the touristy stuff before we spent our time just hanging out at home or at the park with the kiddos. We were able to get away for a night of shopping and dinner and that was pretty spectacular! Thanks Sonja again for taking time out to come and see us. We always look forward to seeing you and catching up.

There's one more exciting thing that happen recently. Fox learned to ride his bike without training wheels. It took an entire day but he was going to stick it out to the end. He picked it up pretty quickly despite the fact that I finally got to use almost all of the really really large size bandaids. Of course, as soon as Eden saw him she had to get on the ball with it too (she's such a competitive litte thing!). She's doing pretty well too but we haven't had as much time to practice. Only a couple more days of school and we can all go on some bike rides together! I don't have any pics of Eden on her bike yet but here are a couple cute ones of Fox. How adorable is that last one?
