Happy Halloween

Aren't these gross? I've wanted to make them since last Halloween but never did. When I found a hand mold on Amazon for $5 I knew this was the year. They turned out even better than I expected. Andrew had the wonderful suggestion to use a hard boiled egg for the wrist bone. I took out the yolk and dyed it red. What do you think? Is it sufficiently creepy? Could you eat it? The meatloaf was pretty good actually. I brought it to a Halloween party we were invited to and there wasn't much left by the end of it. We celebrated Halloween a little early over here. Last weekend the school had a fun Halloween bash and the next night, the Embassy hosted one in our neighborhood. They were both a lot of fun. The parties themselves were increible. A lot of time and energy went into making them a fun experience for the kiddos. But in the end, Halloween was a bit of a bust this year for us. For one, Fox came down with a fever both nights. It's pretty sad when you're little superman doesn't even want to eat his candy! And remember about a year ago, when I showed a certain Micheal Jackson music video to two very innocent children who had nightmares for a week after? They still bring it up occasionally. Well, on Friday they showed it to the kids in Eden's classroom!!! She was so upset by it and just couldn't shake it off the whole weekend. She does't even want to go upstairs by herself anymore! And, this is the first year that we didn't make the costumes, not even a little. We just outright bought them and didn't even paint faces or anything. We felt so lame after. Next year we have some making up to do.
