"SNOWMAGEDDON!!"

Our first winter in DC has turned out to be a pretty snowy one. Obama coined the term "Snowmageddon" and I think it fits nicely with the pictures.

Here's Andrew throwing chunks of snow out from our car so he can get out tomorrow and go to work.

Our car wasn't blocked in too badly.

This is the car next to us- not so lucky.

The tree next to our place has completely tipped over and is touching the ground. That's what most of the trees in our complex looks like. I hope that they recover.


Here's Bela having a great time in the snow. It's pretty hard for him to manuver around in it. You should see him try to go to the bathroom.

The parking lot. Nobody's going anywhere today. They say that they won't get to secondary roads until tomorrow at the earliest.

Everyone was out trying to shovel the snow out away from their cars. I heard a lot of explatives in Spanish flying around (hey- I took Spanish in high school- I know...) After people got their car out they would leave chairs and shovels and things (someone even used an extra car door propped us by a broom handle) to hold their space so that no one would take it.

This is our back patio. If you look closely you can see Andrew's bike.

We are supposed to get more snow on Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm not sure how much though. We're enjoying spening time indoors. We've got power and everything we need for the next few days so we're happy. Luckily Andrew has the weekend off. So, give us a call. We're home.
