Christmas 2009

Eden really got into the Nativity. Here, she is Mary, Tiger is Baby Jesus.

Our Gingerbread House (actually, townhouses). We made it from scratch and designed it to look like the types of places we've lived in. Eden helped with the decorating.

Fox is so athletic, he can already dunk a basketball on his new goal.

The kids opened most of their gifts over Skype. Eden is thanking Grandma Pam and Papa for her Princess and the Frog set.

The kids helped make some Christmas treats. Fox enjoyed crushing peppermints...

... and Eden coated chocolate-covered pretzels with them...

and behold!

Reading the Velvetine Rabbit.

Eden gave Fox his first guitar (of many more to come, undoubtedly).
She got it for a great price-- free at a toy swap.

The Christmas morning mess

On Christmas Eve we told Eden Santa couldn't come unless she went to bed and stayed there. She took it quite seriously; the next morning it was hard to convince her that she could go downstairs. But she finally relented and was pleased to find a stocking full of Sleeping Beauty figurines--especially Malifacent.

And Fox's stocking had trucks. In fact, most of his toys this Christmas had wheels, except the guitar and b-ball goal.

Eden slaving away with her Kitchenaid mixer.

Our neigbor brought us Honduran Christmas soup--complete with clams, shrimp, octopus, and crab legs. It was actually phenomenal!

Grandma and Grandpa Burton made good on their promise to get Eden a black dress like Malifacent's.
